This week was interesting as we got to do a lot of research on animals and how we treat them. While some facts were horrifying, like captivity of lions, and how lions are hunted for their parts, some were interesting, like how lions have a smaller brain than tigers, but are still smarter.
One of the more interesting things I found were the ligers and tigons. The two are hybrids between lions and tigers, and have interesting characteristics. They are both bigger in size than their parents, and share the features of both lions and tigers.
Coming back to the problems, I researched about how and why lions are hunted. This gave me an insight as to how to write the problem for my AP. I also learned some basics about making arguments from the three videos we saw. The videos gave me insight on how to present information I already have, and how tone and choice of words helps convey the message simply. The article by Lori Marino was also interesting, as it summarized both the literature review and the AP in the same article.
For the peer review, I reviewed Michael Meza's draft, which I thought was a bit short, and could have been more detailed. Rest, it was a nice first draft, with good use of sources.
