Twitter!

Hi Everyone! I just started with twitter a few days ago and I am already overwhelmed with the information out there on this social media site. Leave the Kardashians, the Jonas brothers, or other celebrities; twitter is home to lots of information from people as well as campaigns.

I personally found twitter to be a platform to share my concern about animals and how humans take them for granted. I believe that this class has given me the opportunity to be able to make a difference in the world. This difference might be negligible on a personal level, but I believe that as a whole class, or the whole world, we can make a difference, and twitter has been an extraordinarily empowering tool.

Every movement begins with a single person, be it something like the Chipko Andolan to save the trees or any independence struggle, and if that single person thought what difference would he, alone, would be able to make; then no movement would ever have been successful.

So far on twitter I have tweeted facts and information about animals, I believe that if the people realize how magnificent the world of animals is, they would stop hurting animals heartlessly. I have retweeted tweets from National Geographic, from various researchers, and other sources which I believe will help raise awareness about animals.

For further research, I would like to focus on my favourite animal, the lion. Lions absolutely amaze me, their beauty, their pride, their power, and their feeling of authority; these wild cats are truly amazing in every aspect and it extremely disheartens me how they are poached or killed for sport.

Truely Magnificent. #39canimals

Finally I would just like to say that animals are beautiful, and their world full of surprises, and we as a superior species have a duty to save them not obliterate their world.

I agree that twitter makes you feel more in touch with the world and how it makes it feel like you're involved with the world.
